Google analtics

Why does the website ask for a UA number when Google discontinued them in 2023?

Universal Analytics (UA) numbers are obsolete because Google permanently discontinued Universal Analytics properties in July 2023, replacing them with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which uses a "G-" measurement ID instead of a "UA-" ID

Hello,

Universal Analytics (UA) is a legacy version of Google Analytics that stopped processing new data on July 1, 2023. Google permanently discontinued and deleted all Universal Analytics properties and data in 2024.

To ensure I provide you with the most accurate guidance, I will be reaching out to our team for further assistance. Once I have additional information, I'll be happy to share the appropriate recommendations and next steps with you.

Hi,

I coordinated with our team regarding this matter. Since Universal Analytics (UA) Tracking IDs have been permanently discontinued by Google, they can no longer be generated or used.

As an alternative, you can obtain the Google Analytics tracking code (HTML script) from your Google Analytics account and add it to your website's Page Header under Advanced Page Settings.

This will allow Google Analytics to track your website traffic without requiring a UA Tracking ID.

Please let us know if you need assistance locating the tracking code or adding it to your website.

I think I did that. Went to Page settings, Advanced settings, Then in the box titled Add HTML or Javascript. I pasted the Google script. Has not changed anything as of yet hoping it just needs time?
