404 Error so I cannot edit my site

I sign into my Homestead account just fine. But when I select the site I want to edit, I click on it and get the "404 Error File or Directory not found." Interestingly, I have an old, unpublished site that I can get into! Please help!

@elizabeth3664https://www.benderdachs.com/ is online. If it doesn't appear in your website editor, call support.10.12.25: No, Web.com does not own Homestead; Homestead was acquired by Endurance International Group in 2012, while Web.com merged with Endurance in 2021 to form Newfold Digital. Therefore, while both companies are now under the same parent company, Web.com itself did not purchase Homestead.
2012: Intuit sold Homestead Technologies to Endurance International Group.
2021: Web.com merged with Endurance International Group to form Newfold Digital.

A 404 error means "Not Found," an HTTP status code signaling that your browser successfully connected to the website's server, but the server couldn't find the specific page or resource you requested, usually because the URL was mistyped, the page was moved, deleted, or linked incorrectly. It's a common digital "dead end" indicating the requested file isn't at that address, not a server failure.

I got the message in the Homestead site, when I clicked EDIT SITE next to my website's icon.

I did not do anything to change my URL/address. My site IS still published. I just can't edit it.

You have to call customer service; it isn't anything that you have done, I am having the same issue with 4 sites.

I am having the same problem. All my sites are live, but I can't access them to edit, I get the same error message or site not available.

Homestead has really taken a nosedive as far as technical & quality issues, I have been a member since 2001.

@custom1265 I have also been with Homestead "forever." (Since 2005.)

My editor has been down since 01/13/26. I have been calling every week for an update since 01/20. The customer service reps are wonderful and polite.

But apparently the programmers don't know what they're doing! I was told we are part of 81 accounts affected by this problem, (maybe it has to do with the age/longevity of our sites? Since we have both been with them over 20 years?)

I am about ready to dump them. But I really haven't had many problems until now. Uggh!

Since Homestead was purchase by another company, they don't know their ass from elbow.

I don't believe it is because of the age of our websites; I've been here since 2001.

They gave guaranteed life pricing, for the original members as a "Thank You" gift for being loyal or something like that. I believe the new owners are trying to push the grandfathered pricing people out by frustrating us into leaving just as you are. I believe this because, they tried to bill me for an amount that was way over my plan price in January, they even suspended my access.

The thing is I have been billed in July for the past 24 years on auto pay and my year isn't even up, and they pulled this crap.  Then, after I get the billing issue all straightened out, this bs with the editor happened. I haven't been able to edit anything this year at all.

The new owners are at fault, they most likely own all the other platforms, so they don't care if we leave because they will earn more revenue without us here.

Just my theory, but it makes sense.

Anyone that doesn't have multiple sites on Homestead should leave while they can, I have too many sites and the grandfathered price is very good, I feel stuck here but considering my options.

The AI generated sites are looking much better than the homestead sites also!

I have not been on Homestead for a while now and just now trying to get  into my web sites using site builder plus. I cannot create a new site and cannot get into web site manager .... never had this headache before. Whats going on? I heard homestead changed hands again, don't t these new owner know anything about runing a site builder company. If this is how it is going to be I'm just leaving homestead. I have much better things to do than fight to try and edit all my web sites and not even be able to create a new web site because that does not even work. Any suggestions beore I call it quits with homestead. Use to be the best site building company on the internet years ago, sure went down hill in a hurry, was the best on the internet, esprcially with the site builder you could use even if you were off line. Hate to lose all my work, but it is just not worth getting frustrated all the time try to get in to edit my sites. Help

it's been 3 weeks since I have been able to edit any of my websites. Homestead has definitely taken a dive on quality since being purchased. They claim that upper-level technical support is working on it, this is the longest time I have ever lost access to editing in 25 years with Homestead. How long does it take? Technical support upper level must still be on vacation...

It seems like those of us affected are all very LONG TIME customers of Homestead!

I wonder if there's a connection with that theory?

@elizabeth4815 You're using old aps. Microsoft doesn't support window 9 and 10 anymore. Why expect Homestead to support 20 year old Sitebuilder Desktop?
