Unfortunately, we're unable to place the domain on hold. If you cancel your Homestead account, the domain may eventually expire if it is not renewed, which could result in losing ownership of the domain name.

If the new owner would like to continue using the domain, here are the available options:

Option 1: Transfer Ownership of the Homestead Account

The new owner can take over your existing Homestead account.
This allows the domain name and website to remain active with minimal disruption.
Future renewals and account management can then be handled directly by the new owner.

Option 2: Transfer the Domain to Another Provider

You can request a domain transfer out and then close your Homestead account.
The new owner can transfer the domain to the registrar or hosting provider of their choice.
Once the transfer is complete, they can host the domain and build or migrate the website with their new provider.
