I have my own domain and want to add host it on homestead

I purchased my domain name from Go Daddy. I already use Homestead to host another website and want to host my new website here also. When I clicked on create a new site, it wants me to put in my domain name followed by .homestead.com. I don't want the .homestead.com included. How can I point the nameservers to the new site without using the .homestead.com extension?

When you create a new website in Homestead, the system requires you to initially assign a temporary placeholder name (ending in .homestead.com or .homesteadcloud.com). This is just an internal system address used to build and store your site. You will not be stuck using it. [1, 2]
To host your new GoDaddy domain on this new site without the .homestead.com extension, follow this two-part process:
Part 1: Connect your GoDaddy domain inside Homestead
  1. Complete the site creation: Go ahead and type in a temporary name to finish creating your new website in the Homestead Websites Manager.
  2. Add your custom domain: In the left navigation menu, click on the Domains tab. [1, 2]
  3. Map the domain: Under the section "Use a Domain You Already Own", type in your GoDaddy domain name (without the www) and click Use This Domain. [1, 2]
  4. Choose your setup preference: Select Keep Current Provider (since it's registered at GoDaddy) and then click I Have Added Nameservers. [1]
  5. Associate the domain: Find your newly added domain in your Homestead list, click Change Site Association, and select your brand new website from the drop-down menu. [1, 2]
Part 2: Point your nameservers from GoDaddy
Now that Homestead is ready to accept the domain, you need to tell GoDaddy where to send the traffic. [1]
    1. Log into your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.
    2. Find your new domain name, click on it, and look for the DNS or Nameservers settings. [1]
    3. Select Change Nameservers (or I'll use my own nameservers). [1]
    4. Enter the official Homestead primary nameservers:
      • NS1.MDNSSERVICE.COM
      • NS2.MDNSSERVICE.COM
      • NS3.MDNSSERVICE.COM [1]
  1. Save your changes. [1]
Once updated, it typically takes anywhere from a few minutes up to 48 hours for the DNS changes to propagate globally. After propagation is complete, visitors typing in your custom domain will go directly to your new website without ever seeing the .homestead.com placeholder. [1, 2, 3]
