Hello Good Day!
We understand that you want to add a DNS record that contains special characters. However, Homestead’s DNS editor does not support records with those special characters. As an alternative, you may use Cloudflare as a third‑party security and nameserver provider, which fully supports DNS records that contain special characters.
Please see the instruction below on how you can create an account with Cloudflare
1. Go to Cloudflare’s Website
Visit cloudflare.com and click Sign Up.
2. Create Your Account
Enter your email and create a password. This gives you access to your Cloudflare dashboard.
3. Add Your Domain
Type your domain (example: djmagicmike.biz) into the Add a Site field.
4. Choose the Free Plan
Select the Free plan — this is enough for SSL and DNS support.
5. Review DNS Records
Cloudflare will scan your existing DNS records. Make sure the records match what you have in Homestead.
6. Update Nameservers
Cloudflare will give you two nameservers. Replace your current nameservers in Homestead with the Cloudflare ones.
How to Update Nameservers in Homestead
Go to www.homestead.com and sign in with your credentials.
Once logged in, click Domains on the left menu.
Find your domain (example: yourdomain.com) and click Edit or Advanced DNS Settings.
Scroll to the section labeled Nameservers.
Delete the current nameservers and enter the new ones provided to you
(example: Cloudflare nameservers).
Click Save or Submit to apply the update.
7. Wait for Propagation
DNS propagation may take 24 hours.
