Cancelling services

I have gone through the steps to cancel my services through the portal & I get this message below. Why must I call to cancel? Why isn't there an option to do a live chat to assist me?

Hello,

Cancelling the account immediately requires calling, but you can set your account to close before your next billing date by choosing the option "opt out auto-renewal".
