Cancel site and keep domain name with GoDaddy

I have tried to cancel my site, but I get a response saying I can't cancel because I still have the domain name. My domain is through GoDaddy, not Homestead. I don't want to cancel it. I have tried calling Homestead, they hang up on me after telling me to go to the website where there is no help. This happens no matter what help button I press on the call.
