WebsiteBuilder: Add an Image Gallery

WebsiteBuilder: Add an Image Gallery

Here is how to add an image gallery:

  1. Click + Elements

  2. Click Images > Image Gallery

  3. Select your method of adding images and click OK

  4. 1) You can Clear Items to delete the default images and Add Images to add new images.
    2) Click on the image to get settings like layout and alignment
    3) Add a Title and Description to your image
    4) Click Save

  5. Place the Gallery and you'll see a menu above.
You can change it to a grid, single row, or column of images. You can add animations, add navigation buttons or arrows. You can use docking.
Click More > Advanced to go to additional settings.

I can create a gallery, but each page is going to have separate photos.  How do I just set up a bunch of different galleries?  I will have about 400 pages, each with a different gallery.  Is there a way to set up galleries before I design each page?

Not sure if I am explaining this well.  I would like to see, and maybe it already exists, a link that says "galleries", then "add new" without being on any particular page.

I am not sure what you want. If you need to add a new page, you can go to pages > add, then select from template and choose a gallery page. If you want to add a gallery to an existing page, you do need to be on that page. Are you askingif there can be an option to first add gallery, then have it prompt for the page?

No, that is not what I meant.  Perhaps I need to play around a bit first, I may have found the answer.  I want a different gallery on each page...it looks like I can add a new folder, then add pix to that folder.  Then add it to the gallery on that page, is that correct?   That is exactly what I want so maybe now I understand.

One other question....do the pix automatically compress the files (if they are too large) like they did in the old site builder

Except I wanted one folder for each category, eg.  Rome, Paris, Venice, etc.  Looks like everything goes into one folder but I will play around a bit more.

Ready for that Christmas bonus yet...you've earned it.

I hope so. :)

You can make multiple folders and upload the appropriate pictures to the folder. I believe you can only upload about 20 pictures at a time.

Thanks....that answers my question.  What about compression?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled how do I make click to enlarge setup for my paintings photos.

My website has paintings and sculptures  and since I can't fill most of a page with each painting, how do I set up "click to enlarge" so that customers can see a larger version?

Setting up your pages with a photo gallery may help accomplish this. Have you already tried using the photo gallery element?

I am trying to adjust the transparency / opaqueness of the image gallery; I want the images go be slightly faded. I have tried doing this through the Advanced>Style> Background and Overlay opaque sliders, and tried to also in the image settings under Background, but nothing seems to happen. How can I accomplish this?

Hello Nathaniel,

You can add transparency to the entire image gallery by selecting the gallery, go to more>advanced>style and use the opacity tool bar to make them a bit transparent.

Hi Nathaniel:
With the image gallery, as far as I know, the finished image cannot be altered. It only shows exactly
what the image looks like when it is uploaded the gallery.

Hello
I've placed a gallery on each of two pages
In one instance, I find that hovering the mouse on any picture gives a slight zoom effect.  I like this because it confirms to the use that something will happen if they click on it.
But in the second instance, the picture is simply highlighted, with no zoom effect.  I can't find the setting for this.  Can you help please?

Hello,

The two different effects are due to the default settings for the design of the gallery. If you would like to change one to match another you can do so by selecting the gallery, click more>advanced>change design and choose the desired effect from the left.

Hello,

More images can be added to the gallery by clicking on manage gallery and using the add images button in the top right.

If you want to have more than 4 images displaying at once, click on the gallery, click more, advanced, settings, and increase the items per page

Hello,

If the images are displaying as thumbnails they were most likely uploaded into an image gallery. These do show as thumbnails until the image is clicked on in the preview mode or on the live website and they expand. If you want to be able to scale the image or enlarge it upload it as a single image and not into a gallery.
