Unable to upload images in website manager

I have been unable to upload any new images to my website today. When I try to upload an image, it looks like it's loading, but an error message appears at the bottom of the screen, and it never loads. The images are all the proper style and size. I've even tried to upload images that have uploaded successfully before, and they won't load either. This problem has been occurring randomly for about a week. The other times, I stopped and rebooted my entire system, and I was able to get it to work properly. I have rebooted several times today, and it is still not working.

According to Google:

The random image upload failures you are experiencing are caused by an ongoing system glitch on Homestead's server side, which their engineering team has recently acknowledged as a temporary hiccup affecting multiple users. Since you have already verified your files are the correct size and format, and your system reboots are no longer clearing it, the issue is likely a combination of server instability and account-specific browser cache limitations. [1] [1, 2, 3]
To bypass this glitch and get your uploads working, step through these targeted troubleshooting measures:
Force a Browser Session Reset
Your system reboots might fail to clear the error if your web browser is continuously loading a stalled web session. [1]
  • Perform a Hard Refresh: Clear the browser's immediate memory cache. On Windows, press Ctrl + F5 while inside the Homestead Website Manager. On a Mac, press Cmd + Shift + R. [1, 2]
  • Log Out Completely: Log out of your account, close all browser windows, reopen the browser, and log back in to force a completely new server handshake. [1, 2]
  • Switch Browsers: If you are currently working in Google Chrome, try switching entirely to Mozilla Firefox (or vice versa), as specific browser updates occasionally break the uploader tool's active script components. [1, 2]
Audit Your Account Storage Allocations
Homestead stops accepting new asset uploads or modifications if your account hits its designated hosting storage cap, which often mirrors the behavior of a loading failure. [1, 2]
  • Log directly into your primary profile page at Homestead.
  • Navigate to My Account > Account Summary to view your active site statistics.
  • Check the total megabytes (MB) used against your remaining allowance. If your limit is maxed out, open your File Manager to permanently delete old, unlinked images to immediately free up space. [, 2]
Test Server Responsiveness
  • Try Incognito Mode: Open a private browsing window to attempt a fresh file upload. This isolates your workspace from persistent extensions or corrupted tracking data. [1, 2]
  • Rename and Re-save: If the button stays frozen, rename a sample image file on your computer to a very simple name (avoiding any spaces, dashes, or special characters like # or &), then try uploading it again. Special characters can accidentally break active server string paths.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried them all. Nothing worked. Apparently they are aware that there is an issue with photo uploads today, and they are working on it.

@reyven4754 Any idea when this will be resolved? I lost an entire day of work on my website today because I cannot upload images.
