Can I backup or export my site?

I am working on my site, and saving allot.  I can see how the history works, so I can go back in time.  That's great.  However, what I want is to be able to make a backup of my site, with all it's pages, and scripts, meta-tags, and style sheets in tact.  How can I make a full back-up of my sight. 

Justifications:

1. I want to be sure my site is safe and secure in an off-site archive.

2. I would like to be able to publish my site in my own web server.

3. I want to save snippets so that they are reusable components.
