301 Redirect Options Unavailable

Hi, there!  I've tried to follow the directions on this post for domain forwarding.  We want to forward our homestead domain (example.com) to another domain (totallydifferent.com).

I cannot for the life of me find any option to set up a 301 redirect.  The guidance of the post says "Alternatively, you can use Domain Forwarding within Homestead's DNS settings to permanently forward http://yourhomesteadsite.com to https://yourgodaddysite.com (using a 301 redirect)."

But there's no direction on where to configure redirect, and for the life of me I cannot find a setting in Homestead to make that happen.

Can someone please clear this up for me?

According to Google:

To forward a Homestead-registered domain to a GoDaddy-hosted site, update the DNS settings in your Homestead account by pointing the A record to GoDaddy’s IP address or by setting up URL forwarding, typically taking up to 48 hours to propagate. For a permanent move, unlock the domain and transfer it to GoDaddy using an authorization code.
Method 1: Direct Forwarding (DNS Update)
  1. Get GoDaddy IP: Obtain the IP address for your GoDaddy hosting account (A record).
  2. Access Homestead: Log into your Homestead account and navigate to the Domain section.
  3. Edit DNS/A Record: Update the A record to point to the IP address provided by GoDaddy.
  4. Wait for Propagation: DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to take effect.
Method 2: Transfer Domain to GoDaddy
  1. Unlock Domain: Log in to Homestead and unlock the domain to allow for transfer.
  2. Get Authorization Code: Obtain the EPP/authorization code from Homestead.
  3. Initiate Transfer: Go to GoDaddy's Domain Transfer tool, search for your domain, and enter the authorization code.
  4. Complete Purchase: Follow the prompts to purchase the transfer, which usually takes 5-7 days.
Method 3: Using URL Forwarding
If you only want the domain to redirect to a new URL rather than hosting it there:
  • In your Homestead domain management panel, look for "Forwarding" or "Domain Redirects" and enter the target GoDaddy URL.
Key Considerations:
  • 60-Day Rule: Domains must be with a registrar for 60 days before they can be transferred.
  • Email Setup: If you have email linked to your domain, you may need to reconfigure MX records.

Amazing!  Method 3 is what I want.  Our new website is hosted on the Webflow platform under a new URL.

How to I get to "Forwarding" or "Domain Redirects"?  Is it in one of the options highlighted in the image attached?
