Custom CSS within the Website Builder's editor

I have the need for a custom menu and ideally, a server-side-include file within the Homestead Website Builder editor. I can implement the menu into the site using the "Embed HTML" option from the "Elements" option, but it doesn't work quite right. Has anybody had any experience with using custom css with the Homestead editor? If so, how?
